2008
Well done to all those
of you who completed the Delight in 2008.
We just about made it with the weather, there was a small downpour on the
return which caught some people.
I'm not aware of any mishaps, although I heard a tale about a vicar with road
rage near Ashcombe!
85
entered the event and all that started finished. I must thank the following
people who helped to make the event possible.
John & Margaret Parramore for running the
Thorverton Control, Pete Luxton, Jean Brierly and Debbie
Ironside-Smith for doing the
Dawlish Checkpoint. Phil Ellis and John
Cowling for helping at the HQ. Outpost Cycles
in Plympton and the Coffee Shop at
The Bakery in Moretonhampstead. Linda Swayne
baked a fine array of cakes for us, and Roy Russell
helped put out some arrows in Exeter - partly in vain!
As always the Recreational Trust at Newton Abbot provided us with HQ facilities
with Monica doing all the teas and sandwiches.
Thanks to the the AUK committee members who will shortly be validating you
Brevet cards prior to their return.
If you enjoyed the Devon Delight you will definitely enjoy the SOUTH HAMS
AUDAX from South Brent on 7th September
